Zimbabwe election: Opposition rejects 'fake' poll results – BBC News

Zimbabwe’s opposition leader has dismissed “unverified fake results” after President Emmerson Mnangagwa was declared winner of the first election since the ousting of Robert Mugabe.

Nelson Chamisa’s MDC Alliance party vowed to launch a legal challenge, saying the vote was rigged.

Mr Mnangagwa has urged Zimbabweans to unite behind his presidency.

Troops are patrolling the streets of the capital Harare after protests on Wednesday left six people dead.

  1. Plz hlp us we need your hlp …i am a student of bangladesh…All the school and College going students about 100k+ walk on road demanding justice. 100k+ students are standing on the road for 4th day in a row, chanting slogans and demanding justice for the deaths of their fellows on Airport road at 29 July. Here is the news link:
    https://www.facebook.com/100117146754830/posts/1476755422424322/

Even police are also attacking on the young generation but our #President and #Prime_Minister remain silent. So we need BBC news help to gather support from worldwide for those kids who want justice for their friends who lost their life for unsafe road and transport system. And today afternoon police used tear gas and rubber bullets as they tried to control the crowds on Saturday, though police denied this.A doctor and witnesses quoted by AFP news agency said the number of injured was much higher, at more than 100.Doctor Abdus Shabbir told the agency a few of the injured were "in a very bad condition" and some had rubber bullet injuries. Local journalists told the BBC they were among those beaten up by members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League, a student organisation currently linked to the ruling Awami League and opposed to the protests.sexual assaults in the streets, a female reporter alleged on social media that she had been "molested" while trying to film the clashes. BCL (Bangladesh Chhatra League) KIDNAPPED over 50 girls then they RAPED TOATAL 13 girls among them ,and murdered 2 of them, and 4 boys were beaten to death, they ripped off the left eye of a 17 year old protester. Our Military forces remain silent during these occurrences ,they didn’t take action because PM doesn’t gave them order to do so. We are DOOMED by the BCL(Bangladesh Chhatra League). where is the justice we are seeking? Is that wrong doing something great for our own country? ok kill us but what was the fault of those girls? Where’s the Feminists ? Cant you see they kidnapped our sisters in front of us,two were got killed to save them on-spot. about 50 guys we gathered to save them they beaten us so much that 17 were got admitted into hospital and 10 of them still in ICU ,We just wanted a safe road that’s it and a result they gave us dead-bodies of our brothers and sisters ,they raped and then murdered those rape victim because if they leave alive they could take action against OUR Government and their killing, raping machine BCL. We are all alone our police department, military Forces are all corrupted they don’t listen to us.

  2. The situation in Dhaka, Bangladesh is drastically going downhill and media has been scared to silence. The students were peacefully protesting for a better transport system until they were brutally attacked. The situation is growing dire and we are depending on people on the streets to report back to us with videos and information as our own media is suppressing the news. This is what we have to deal with for wanting justice. A BLOODBATH A MASSACRE! PLEASE HELP US! THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW!

  16. Members of the government based student league have raped and killed protesters near Jigatola, Dhanmondi, Dhaka!
According to the source of information, 4 girls have been badly molested and raped afterwards, and 4 protesters have been killed by the police with the help of the government based student league (Chaatroleague) by open firing on the protesters. A student of only class five has been found dead on the spot!
We, the citizens of the country, urge the entire world and the UN to take rapid steps against this genocide and these facist activities done by the ruling party. Human rights are massivly violated and we, as human beings, are in danger of losing our lives in this current circumstances.
