Zimbabwe's electricity tariffs continue to escalate: Mthuli Ncube

Mthuli Ncube (Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister ) on Thursday announced a 250% electricity hike for the different category of users, that vary from Domestic consumers to non- exporters, mining and agricultural sectors. Minister Ncube admitted the current tariffs were no longer viable and the move is meant to ensure the viability of the power utility Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority, Zesa and allow it to deliver on its mandate and pay its external debt with Eskom of South Africa.
