The time is now for Ivory Coast

Al Jazeera’s Andy Richardson reports on an Ivory Coast side studded with stars from top club sides around the world – but which has failed on the African stage.

The Elephants haven’t won the Africa Cup of Nations since 1992, despite featuring players like Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, who is the reigning African Player of the Year.

As the ‘Golden Generation’ enter their golden years, coach Francois Zahoui says it is time to “pay attention” and realise that playing for the national team, not a club side, is the biggest honour in football.
