Prime Minister Raila Odinga is in the Ivory Coast to start the mediation process aimed at ending the post election crisis in the West African nation. Raila says he will be working with the team appointed by ECOWAS to broker a peaceful settlement to the crisis. The Kenyan premier was appointed after the ECOWAS team failed to convince incumbent leader Laurent Gbagbo to cede power to his rival Allasana Ouattara, widely believed to have won the country’s elections. The negotiation efforts start today.
