  1. Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African Socialist International and Leader of the African Nation! He has developed the theory of African Internationalism which will be the only vehicle to bring Africa and African people to freedom. Uhuru!

  2. Why doesn’t someone in Sierra Leone man up, get a crew together and fix the water for his household or neighborhood? Surely these things must happen. Why is it always Europe’s fault when people they used to rule over can’t govern? They gave you your freedom but you don’t know how to govern a country and educate a population.

  3. Commie, Oppression/Victim and African Socialist talking points all strung neatly together. I’m gay and an American. I would bet money this “brother” of mine would condemn me. Don’t go to far right or left folks. There lies madness.

  4. I find it amazing that so many in Africa continue to cast a blind eye to all slavery , including the full participation of Africans , prior to the Portuguese arrival which was actually very late , as far as the history of slavery is concerned . I find it equally incredible that the Europeans in Europe and American are the one that pioneered the end of slavery . Where the is no responsibility there is no growth .

  5. This guy didn’t listen to his opposition, Africa has nations far more corrupt (economically) than USA and Europe, individual leaders accumulating and hording wealth belonging to their nation. Just because African countries don’t influence elections or start proxy wars in other continents doesn’t mean if left to their own devices they’ll come up with something better. Africa learnt capitalism, corruption and genocide from the west, and many nations don’t even need to give the pretence of democracy as long as natural resources keep flowing out to the rest of the world. Letting African nations collude together won’t help the masses. Nigeria is in the top 20 richest countries in the world and Oil rich Arabic nations are up there too. However as we all should know GDP and GDP per capita doesn’t depict the true success of a nation. That would require a totally new human based assessment score including things like access to health, tertiary education, housing, infrastructure and equity of earnings, corruption levels, democratic politics. Politicians and the elite world wide attempt to push the importance of GDP on us so they can keep markets free of further regulation and keep the perception of a thriving economy. They do this so they can justify ignoring the growing numbers of people living below the poverty line in a country that gets richer, as well as unequal market dominance by the elite and developed nations. They demand that markets should be free to set wages as opposed to nations, that taxes for the top % should be as low as possible to encourage growth and international trade and that governments should not investigate individuals or corporations for corruption. Africa’s problems are due to corruption of capitalism the same as every other. But eually it’s due to the lack of education for the masses and the dispassionate economic perspective of a nations success. It’s irrelevant to look at the past to justify insular behaviour in the future. Africa needs a nation to lead by example and for others to follow. They need to find their own Nick Hanauer pitchforkeconomics.com and Joseph E. Stiglitz https://library.fes.de/pdf-files/iez/12922.pdf in the future.

  6. OMALI HAS SPOKEN THE TRUTH. AFRICA NEEDS A REVOLUTION TO PROTECT OUR RESOURCES FROM BEING STOLEN BY THE WEST TO INPROVE THEIR ECONOMIES. 7. by far the best presentation and the most coherent understanding of political economy I’ve heard

  8. Blaming the slave trade on capitalism is historical and semantic nonsense. Capitalism is ethically opposed to slavery.

    Anti-capitalist diatribe.

  9. Thank you Oxford Union for hosting Omali Yeshitela. He is a lifetime legend of and for African solidarity, truth, reconciliation and justice. Read his books.
