Military rulers and protest leaders in Sudan have agreed on a three-year transition period to hand over power to a civilian government. However, deadly clashes broke out yesterday as paramilitary forces tried to break up ongoing demonstrations and celebrations. Sudan’s opposition alliance blamed military rulers for the renewed street violence.
