A project by an Italian – owned company proposing the plantation of the Jatropha plant in Dakatcha woodlands in Malindi for the production of bio-diesel oils has drawn controversy between two nongovernmental organisations. The green Africa foundation and action aid international are both accusing each other of fermenting an agenda after a story aired on Citizen TV, where farmers complained that they were duped into planting the Jatropha plant, which has proven to be an environmental hazard to them.
