Five dead as Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo border tensions grow

Tensions are rising along the border with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo with each side accusing the other of mounting cross-border raids.

The Rwandan government admitted it had killed five soldiers from the DRC on Wednesday after it said a group of them crossed the border into Rwanda and opened fire.

But the DRC (formerly known as Zaire) accused Rwandan troops of entering Congolese territory and seizing one of its soldiers.
