DRC: 17 killed as anti-Kabila protests turn violent

At least 17 people, including three police officers, have been killed during anti-government protests in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The demonstrators were demanding President Joseph Kabila to step down.

Kabila’s second term ends in December, but the opposition is accusing him of planning to hold onto power.
