Doctor Returns to Sierra Leone to Improve Health Services


Sierra Leone’s health system has suffered from decades of corruption and the destruction wrought by a long civil war. The few functioning hospitals are under-staffed and short on medical supplies and equipment. Now a new medical center provides high quality services all under one roof. Fid Thompson reports for VOA on Dr. Sylvester Nicol’s vision for healthcare in Sierra Leone in this edition of Making a Difference.

  3. I haven’t seen Dr. Nicol in 6 years, but I will never forget this man. He is one of the best doctors I have ever known in my life. I miss you so very much Dr. Nicol and hope you are doing well.
